Borrowing its title from a caption used by Bohdan Holomíček for one of his autobiographical photographs, I Know Where I Don’t Know When brings together a selection of images made with a camera phone in between 2010 and 2014.

 

At a time when my desire for making photographs was fading away gradually, this simplistic instrument reignited this interest by giving me access to a carefree mode of image-making.

 

As friends and strangers, buildings and cars, trees and animals, objects and landscapes were being reduced into mere impressions by the tiny sensor of this ever-present camera, I was feeling animated, much like a hobbyist would watching his collection grow.
